SCHMIDT LAB

Understanding pediatric brain cancers through brain development

COA39-D14-051925-A1_2_FusionStitcher_2025-08-28T21-15-25_edited.png

The Schmidt lab studies pediatric brain cancers through the lens of brain development. Using neural stem cell models and brain organoids we aim to develop human cell culture models that will allow us to study the cell-of-origin, disrupted genetics and signaling cascades of cancers during the development of the brain.

The Schmidt lab is opening in November 2025!
